The short version
Bad Kitty Software is free to download and use. Individuals, companies, and organisations can all use it. You must get it directly from badkitty.uk. You must credit Bad Kitty Software. You cannot sell it, modify it, or store it on servers or shared drives for others to access.
What you can do
- Download and use the software for personal, hobby, or commercial purposes
- Use it at work — as long as every machine it is installed on has its own copy downloaded directly from badkitty.uk
- Use it for accessibility purposes — for example, assistive tools or workflows
What you cannot do
- Sell the software or include it in anything you sell
- Use it as part of a paid commercial product or service for resale
- Modify, reverse engineer, or decompile it
- Remove or obscure the Bad Kitty Software credit
- Distribute it to any third party, whether for free or for profit
- Store, host, or distribute it from a server, network share, cloud service, USB drive, or any other storage medium for third-party access
- Store or share the GPG key, SHA-256 checksum, or any other verification file on any internal or external system
Companies and organisations
Companies and organisations are welcome to use Bad Kitty Software. However, it must be downloaded directly from badkitty.uk onto each machine it will be used on. It cannot be pushed to staff via a server, network share, or any deployment tool. Each installation must have its own copy of the licence. The GPG key and verification files must not be stored or distributed internally.
If you want to do something not covered here
If you want to incorporate Bad Kitty Software into a commercial product for resale or do anything not covered by this licence, you need written permission from Bad Kitty Software first. Get in touch via the contact page.
Credit
When you use the software publicly, include the credit line: Made with Hue by Bad Kitty Software — badkitty.uk (or equivalent wording that makes clear where the software came from).
No warranty
The software is provided as it is. Bad Kitty Software makes no guarantees. If something goes wrong, that is your responsibility. This is normal for free software.
Which software does this cover?
This licence applies to all software released by Bad Kitty Software, including Hue, PassFORGE, and any future releases, unless a specific release states otherwise.
